Q. Will we be learning how to manage our projects using Microsoft Project Online?

A. No, this boot camp specifically designed as a “Guided Discovery” to the configuration settings and the administration of Microsoft Project Online. It's about learning to manage the tool and not the project.

 

However, you will learn how to import your current projects and resources into Project Online as this is usually a function of the Administrator.

Q. I know we need to bring a laptop or notebook to the boot camp, but can I use my iPad instead?

 

A. Technically you can use your iPad or Android device to complete some of your hands-on practices (that relate to Project Web App), however, you will be unable to perform the practices requiring the Microsoft Project Online/Professional 2016 client, such as Importing projects and resources.

Using a Windows notebook/laptop is strongly recommended to benefit fully from the hands-on practices.

Q. I understand that we are using trial software. Do I need to use a credit card for the trial subscription or to download any software?

A. No, Microsoft Office 365 trial subscriptions do not require the use of a credit card.

Q. Does it matter that I currently use Project Standard 2016 on my notebook? 

A. Yes it does, as you will need to install a trial version of Microsoft Project Online Desktop client on your notebook, in order to complete future hands-on practices.

Q. I currently use Project Professional 2016 on my notebook. Do I still need to install the trial version of Microsoft Project Online Desktop client?

A. No. However, you will need to insure that you have the latest Project Professional 2016 client updates on your notebook. You can view/download the latest client updates from the following Microsoft web page: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/projectsupport/project-2016-public-updates/

Q. My company does not allow us to install software on our notebooks. Will that be a problem? 

A. Yes it will. If you cannot install software, you will need your Help Desk to install the trial version of Microsoft Project Online Desktop client on your notebook, prior to arriving at the boot camp on Day 1.

However, we strongly recommend that you contact your Help Desk to see if they can loan you a notebook that allows you to install software yourself during the boot camp.  

Q. I currently use Project Professional 2013 on my notebook. Will I still need to install the trial version of Microsoft Project Online Desktop client?

A. Yes. As of June 30, 2017, you can no longer connect Project Professional 2013 to Project Online. 

Q. Will boot camp ever be cancelled due to low attendance?

A. No. We know that your time is valuable and making the time to attend a training event can be a challenge. That's why we guarantee that our boot camp will always run on the date advertised.

Q. I have a problem at work and I cannot attend the boot camp. Can I transfer my registration to someone else in my organization?

A. Yes you can. Simply follow the instructions on Eventbrite's web page at:
https://www.eventbrite.com/support/articles/en_US/How_To/how-to-update-your-ticket-registration-information?lg=en_US

If you run into a problem, please send an email to sales@pmologistics.com with the new registration information and we can edit your order and transfer the registration manually.

Q. Should we a bring lunch?

A. No, we provide lunch for all attendees. We will also provide coffee, tea, drinks and snacks throughout the boot camp.

Q. I have dietary restrictions. What should I do?

A. Please let us know if you have special dietary requirements in the registration form. We will do everything possible to accommodate you.
